Learning Centre

Written by Carissa Paglino

Learning Centre

Welcome to the Miromaa "Learning Centre".

Over the last 12 months we have been very fortunate to provide IT Language training to Aboriginal language centres in Victoria and Queensland, these training workshops have taken place over 2 to 3 days and have been very successful.  It is from these workshops that we have launched this "Learning Centre" to compliment the workshops.  You can come back here anytime and get a refresher on the face to face training or maybe pick up more tips and tricks which you may have missed.

Please do note hesitate to provide us with feedback and suggestions, just remember we are not professionals at this we are just like you learners too.

The online lessons will cover Miromaa, Lexique Pro, Photostory, Toolbox plus more.

Learning Room

The Miromaa Learning Room is a collection of videos to teach you how to use Miromaa, they can compliment the face to face training that you may have received from us and also make learning from the Miromaa User Guide much better.

It is recommended that you have a broadband internet connection as some of these videos are up to 20mb in size, the average time for a video lesson is approximately 5 minutes. Resolution is at 640 x 480 so they are at a good size for watching.

If you do not have a broadband Internet connection please let us know and we will send you the videos on DVD

Software required to be installed:

Miromaa
Audacity

(There is also a lesson showing you how to install Miromaa if you have not done so)

Software not required initially but recommended:

Lexique Pro
Office 2003 or above
Toolbox

TIP: To make the most of these videos have Miromaa open ready to use so you can pause the lesson and then practise that step on your computer

Please note that the videos are currently based upon Miromaa 2 and will soon be upgraded to Miromaa 3, they are still an excellent resource in the mean time.
