4.2 Recording Environment
- Your Language Journey Workbook -
Language Centre or indoor scenario
Connect your digital audio recorder to your computer via a USB cable and use it as a digital interface and record directly into your computer using a program such as Audacity.
How this works:
- The recorder will be seen by your computer as a digital device to use
- All controls are happening on the computer itself
- You adjust record levels on your device
- Files save directly into your computer
- You disable your computers internal microphone from computer and speakers
- You remove the computer noises (hard drive and computer fan)
- You get the benefits on the digital quality sound and all other benefits listed above
Add in a digital video camera to record video (with video or lapel microphone) at the same time as the ultimate practice.
On country, outside, in the environment scenario
If you are out in the bush or outside then you will want to use the digital recorder in it’s portable capacity and record onto the SD card then transfer to your computer later.
How this works:
- The recorder does all of the work
- All controls happen on the recorder
- You use the batteries in the recorder (check the battery life)
- You have flexibility of movement
- It can be hand held or sat somewhere stable
- You attach accessories such as microphone and windsock
- The recordings all save on the recorder itself and you transfer the files to your computer when you get back home
Add in a digital video camera to record video (with video or lapel microphone) at the same time as the ultimate practice.
